The Fugitive Art Center presents PIECES, a collection of 2D, 3D and video media by Melody Owen. Ms. Owen is interested in the sensuality of an image for what it exposes or evokes in a person and then filters it through a symbolic and emotional lens. “Among the images that exist in our culture, certain ones seem to contain an iconic power, even in our visually inundated times. They resonate and weave within and throughout our emotional landscape.”

Ms. Owen presently lives in Portland, Oregon and attended graduate school at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. In the past year she has won the Jury’s prize in The Oregon Biennial, was granted an individual artists fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission, was included in the Pacific Northwest Annual in Seattle, WA. and exhibited at the prestigious PDX Gallery in Portland.
